Texas
Country Home builds for many quality architects, for
clients who provide stock drawings, and sometimes
participates in competitive bid processes for major
projects. But the bulk of our company’s building is done
on a negotiated design/build basis in a partnership with
Chris Travis and Round Top Design.
For
several years, Texas Country Home has been involved in a
strategic partnership with the prestigious residential
design firms, Round Top Design and Round Top
Architecture, to provide a “turn-key” design/build
service that allows mutual clients to work with a
professional team to manage the design and construction
process all the way from “dream home” to reality. You
work with one capable team from the first conversation
with your designer, until the day you move into your new
home.
This
process allows a much more structured budget management
process because the expertise of the builder can be used
during the design process for cost analysis and value
engineering. In addition - unlike a traditional
competitive bid process - the client, designer and
builder form a cooperative team whose entire focus can
be on delivering on the client’s vision…not on their
individual interests. This makes the experience of
designing and building a home much more pleasant, allows
better control of the budget, and produces homes more
effectively tailored to the specific tastes and
lifestyle of the clients who will live in them.
Because
design/build clients of Texas Country Home are given a
special rate by the design firm, and because fewer
drawings are necessary in a design/build process, the
total cost for design and construction is the same as it
would be in a competitive bid process, but the client
has more control over the process, and gets considerably
more service.
